피터슨은 1944년 카디프에서 두 차례에 걸쳐 브리티시 헤비급 타이틀을 거머쥔 복서 잭 피터슨(1911~1990)의 아들로 태어났다.[2]

피터슨은 뉴포트 예술대학 (1961–1965)에서 미술을 공부하기 전에 카디프의 GKN 제철소에서 일했다.[1]로얄 캄브리아 아카데미의 선출직 위원이며,[3] 영국 예술가 대장장이 협회 회장을 역임했다.[1]

마메츠 우드 기념비는 1916년 제1차 솜메 전투 당시 영국군 제38사단(웰시)의 행동을 기념하는 기념비다.프랑스 북부의 행동 장소에 위치한 기념비는 철조망을 들고 있는 큰 붉은 용으로, 돌로 된 철조망 위에 올려져 있다.[5]

정치 활동
