David Dunger FRCP FRCH는 소아내분비학자로 캠브리지 대학의 소아청소년과 교수였다.[1]던거는 실험의학과 함께 1형 당뇨병의 병원생식과 그 합병증, 비만위험의 근태, 2형 당뇨병의 3개 분야에 대한 연구로 가장 주목받았다.[2][3]
인생
던거는 1971년 1월 1일 런던 대학 그레이트 오몬드 스트리트 병원에서 소아 당뇨병과 소아 내분비학을 전공하여 의대 학사, 외과 학사 학위를 취득하는 임상 훈련을 받았다.
던거는 2021년 7월 20일에 사망했다.[4]
경력
1986년과 2000년 사이에 던거는 옥스퍼드 대학교의 존 래드클리프 병원의 소아내분비내분비학 컨설턴트였다.[5]2000년에 던거는 애든브룩의 병원에 임명되었고 동시에 캠브리지 대학의 소아과 제2학장을 맡았다.[5]
수상 및 명예
던거는 2002년 이 분야에서 뛰어난 연구를 수행해 소아내분비학 유럽학회 연구상을 수상했다.[1][6]2012년 던거는 소아내분비학 분야에서 리더십, 교수, 임상 실습 등에서 탁월한 업적을 인정받아 같은 사회로부터 안드레아 프라더상을 받았다.[7]이 상은 프레이더-윌리 증후군을 발견한 스위스 과학자 소아내분비학자인 안드레아 프레이더를 기리기 위해 붙여졌다.2015년 던거는 제임스 스펜스 메달을 받았다.[2][8]
