2011년 5월 23일, 연방통신위원회(FCC)는 옥션 91의 일부인 웨스트 버지니아 주 워든스빌에 위치할 103.3 FM 주파수에 대한 경매의 높은 입찰자이자 승자로 알렉스 미디어사를 발표했다.[4]알렉스 미디어는 2011년 8월 17일 버지니아 주 서부 프레더릭 카운티의 리틀 노스 마운틴에서 라디오 방송국이 그 주파수로 방송하고 송신할 수 있도록 건축 허가를 신청했다.[5]

콜사인 WTCF는 2012년 3월 19일 수상했으며,[9] 2012년 6월 21일 버지니아주 윈체스터에 위치한 WTRM 스튜디오의 웹 전용 라디오 방송국 '더 크로스 FM'에 "45~60일"에 WTCF에 출격한다고 공지했다.[10]

2012년 6월 25일, 알렉스 미디어는 WTRM 소유주 팀버리지 부처에 65만 달러에 WTCF를 매각하는 옵션 계약을 체결했다.[11]같은 날짜에 시간 중개 계약도 체결됐다.[12]이날 알렉스미디어는 인가된 타워에서 100피트(30m) 떨어진 다른 타워로 이전하기 위해 340와트에서 350와트로 전력증가 허가를 신청했다.[13]하루 뒤인 2012년 7월 26일 방송국은 공식 페이스북을 통해 2012년 9월 4일 출범한다고 발표했지만 8월 한 달 동안 '테스트 모드'에 돌입할 예정이다.[14]2012년 8월 15일 오전 10시, WTCF는 "테스트 모드"[15]로 운영을 시작했다.

2012년 8월 28일, 알렉스 미디어는 방송국의 9월 4일 개시에 앞서 WTCF에 "상업방송국 건설허가 신청서"를 제출하였다.[16]한 달 뒤인 9월 28일에야 WTCF가 FM 방송 면허를 신청하고 발급받을 수 있을 것이다.[17]WTCF는 "테스트 모드" 프로그래밍을 종료하고 2012년 9월 4일 오전 9시에 공식 출범했다.[18]

WTRM 판매

2013년 2월 6일, 팀버리지 부처는 당시 자매 방송이었던 WTRM을 미국가족협회에 110만 달러에 매각했다.[19][20][21]2013년[22] 3월 28일 연방통신위원회(FCC)의 승인을 받아 2013년 4월 11일 매각이 마감됐다.[23]2013년 4월 11일 오후 8시 30분, WTRM은 공식적으로 American Family Radio 프로그래밍으로 전환했고, "Southern Light" 프로그래밍은 팀버리지 부처 소유의 웹사이트에 온라인에 남아 있었다.[24]

WTCF는 판매에 포함되지 않았으며 WTCF의 프로그래밍은 영향을 받지 않았다.[20]

WTCF 판매

주식회사 알렉스 미디어는 2013년 7월 5일 연방통신위원회(FCC)에 자산매입협정을 신청해 WTCF를 팀버리지 부처에 65만달러에 매각하는 절차를 시작했다.[25]알렉스 미디어는 앞서 2012년 6월 25일에 WTCF를 65만 달러에 팀버리지 부처에 매각하는 옵션 계약을 체결한 바 있다.[11]WTCF 면허를 팀버리지 부서에 양도하는 신청서는 2013년 8월 26일에 제출되었고,[26] 2013년 9월 1일에 완성되었다.

서식 전환

WTCF는 2014년 3월 27일 낮 12시 '남방광선'으로 남부 복음서로 전환하며 18개월 만에 하이브리드 컨템포러리 크리스천 락/크리스찬 록/크리스찬 힙합 방송을 종료했다.[27]이전에 "Southern Light" 형식은 이전의 자매 방송인 WTRM에서 청취되었다.[28]

다시 판매됨

2014년 5월 19일 EMF(Education Media Foundation)는 소유주 팀버리지 부처로부터 WTCF를 42만5000달러에 구입했다.[29][30]팀버리지사는 2013년에 구입한 역보다 17만 5천 달러를 싸게 팔았다.[25]EMF는 FCC에 제출한 자료에서 WTCF를 K-LOVE 네트워크의 계열사로 만들 계획을 발표했다.[31]

FCC는 2014년 7월 2일에 WTCF의 판매를 허가했다.[32]팀버리지가 2014년 7월 3일 인근 역인 WVRS의 매물로 문을 닫았다.[33]4일 후, 방송국은 WVRS에 남복음 형식을 모사하기 시작했다.[34]

8월 1일 오전 12시, WVRS와 WTCF의 시뮬캐스트가 종료되었다.[35]남부 복음서 형식은 WVRS에 남아 있었고, K-LOVE 프로그래밍은 WTCF에서 시작되었다.[36]EMF에 대한 WTCF의 판매는 2014년 9월 2일에 마감되었다.[37]
