타임스 북스(이전의 뉴욕 타임스 북 컴퍼니)는 뉴욕 타임스 컴퍼니가 소유하고 헨리 홀트와 컴퍼니에게 라이선스된 출판 각인이다.

타임스북스는 1969년 뉴욕타임스 북컴퍼니로 시작됐는데,[1] 뉴욕타임스컴퍼니가 마이클 브라우드가 1959년 설립한 일리노이주 시카고의 작은 출판사 쿼드랑글 북스를 사들였다.그것의 대통령은 Melvin J. Brusic이었다.처음에는 뉴욕 타임즈 컴퍼니에 의해 전적으로 운영되던 출판사 팔 이름이 1977년에 타임즈 북스로 바뀌었다.

1984년, 타임즈 컴퍼니는 랜덤 하우스에 각인을 허가했다.1991년부터 1996년까지 랜덤 하우스 재임 기간 동안 타임즈 북스의 대표는 피터 오스노스였으며, 후에 퍼블릭 어페어스 북스를 설립하였다.[2][3]

타임즈 북스 사의 편집국장에는 데이비드 소벨과[5] 폴 골롭이 포함되어 있다.[6]

타임즈 북스는 뉴욕 타임즈 컴퍼니 직원들의 원고와 관련하여 다소 논란의 여지가 있는 첫 번째 거절 정책을 가지고 있다.

타임즈북스의 현재 위치는 미국 뉴욕시 맨해튼에 있는 120 브로드웨이다.
