탄킴셍 분수는 1882년 싱가포르 최초의 저수지와 상수도 사업에 기부한 저명한 자선가 탄킴셍을 기리기 위해 세워진 분수이다.
역사
영국 식민지 정부가 탄킴셍 분수를 세운 것은 탄킴이 싱가포르 성 건설을 위해 정부에 13만50달러를 기부한 것에 대한 반응이었다.탄킴셍 분수는 탄의 기부를 기념하기 위해 시 위원들에 의해 세워졌다.그러나 그의 기부금은 수도관을 [1]통해 물이 오르막으로 흐르기를 바라는 정부 기술자에 의해 낭비되었다.1882년, 아마도 수치심과 영국 식민지 정부의 감사를 표시하기 위해, 그 분수는 풀러튼 광장에 설치되었고, 그곳에서 40년 [2]동안 분주한 교차로를 아름답게 장식할 것이다.
