스텔은 영국 노섬벌랜드의 앰블에서 발견된 [1]것과 같이 연어가 쉬고 낚시를 하는 강에 있는 깊은 수영장의 이름이다.[2][3]

그물을 이용한 낚시는 1857년 영국에서 트위드 법에 의해 불법화되었다.[4]
