라이사히브
Rai Sahib라이사히브 / 라오사헵 / 로이사히브 / 라오사히브 / R.S. 약칭 R.S. 로이사히브 / 라오사히브(Rao Saib)는 인도에서 영국 통치 시대에 국가에 대한 충실한 봉사나 공공 복지를 행한 개인들에게 발행된 명예의 칭호였다.[1] 1911년부터 그 타이틀은 특별한 타이틀 배지를 달고 있었다. 번역된 Rai는 "킹" 사히브가 "리더"[2]를 의미한다.
이것은 보통 민간인에게 수여되는 출발 레벨 타이틀이었는데, 나중에 라오 바하두르로 격상되고, 이후 드완 바하두르로 격상될 수 있었다.[4]
라오사히브라는 명칭은 힌두교 북인도 사람들에게, 라오사헵은 마하라슈트라에서, 라오사히브라는 명칭은 남인도 힌두교 사람들에게 수여되었지만, 같은 부류였고, 발음의 지역적 차이에 맞추기 위해 철자법이 변경되었다.[5]
라이사히브/라오사히브/로이사히브 및 영국 라지 기간 동안 발행된 기타 유사한 호칭은 1947년 인도의 독립과 함께 폐지되었다.[6]
