이 잡지는 2007년 10월 '라디오헤드' 실험을 시도하면서 신규 및 현재 구독자들에게 페이스트 1년 구독에 원하는 금액을 지불할 수 있는 기능을 제공했다.[9][3]구독자 기반은 2만8천명 증가했지만 팀 리건-포터 페이스트 사장은 이 모델은 지속 가능하지 않다고 지적하며, 그는 새로운 구독자들이 다음 해에 현재의 요금으로 갱신하고 웹 트래픽의 증가로 인해 추가적인 구독자와 광고주들이 몰릴 것으로 기대했다.[10]
