NGC 1313(일명 탑시 터비 은하)은[2] 1826년 9월 27일 스코틀랜드의 천문학자 제임스 던롭이 발견한 필드[3] 은하와 막대 나선 은하다[4].[5]지름은 약 5만 광년, 즉 은하수의 약 절반의 크기를 가지고 있다.[6]

NGC 1313은 처녀자리 슈퍼클러스터 안에 있다.[7]

2007년에 NGC 1313에서 희귀한 WO 별이 발견되었는데,[8] 현재 유일한 [HC2007] 31로 알려져 있다.그것은 스펙트럼 타입 WO3이다.[8]파생된 절대 크기는 약 -5로 [8]단일 WO 별의 경우 매우 높다. (WO는 보통 약 -1 ~ -4) 이는 WO가 2진수 또는 작은 별의 연관성에 속할 가능성이 높다는 것을 의미한다.[8]

특징들

NGC 1313은 놀라울 정도로 고르지 않은 형태를 가지고 있으며 회전 축이 정확히 중심에 있지 않다.[9]NGC 1313은 또한 강한 항성폭발 활동과[10] 연관된 초셸을 보여준다.[11]NGC 1313은 은하에 다소 누더기 같은 외관을 주는 강렬한 별 형성의 흩어진 조각들이 지배하고 있다.[12]울퉁불퉁한 모양, 누더기 모양, 강한 별의 폭발 등은 모두 과거 은하 충돌로 설명할 수 있다.[13]그러나 NGC 1313은 고립된 은하인 것 같고 직접적인 이웃이 없다.따라서 과거 작은 동반자를 삼켰는지는 분명치 않다.[2]

관측 결과 젊고 푸른 별들이 은하계 곳곳에 흩어져 있는 것으로 나타났다.[14]이는 어린 개방형 성단이 순식간에 중력적으로 '눈이 안 붙고' 거주 별을 은하계에 흩뿌린 유아 사망률의 증거다.[15]이 은하는 마젤란 구름과[16] 약간 유사하며 NGC 1313 X-1과 X-2라고 불리는 두 개의 초경량 X선원을 가지고 있다.[17]전자는 희귀한 중질량 블랙홀이다.[18][19]
