Monument Lab

2018

2019

2019년에는 뉴저지 군사공원 뉴어크에 폴 파버(Paul Farber) 미국 럿거스대 아프리카미국학과 교수 살라미샤 틸렛(Salamishah Tillet)이 설치 프로젝트를 개발했다.이 프로젝트는 1926년 구트존 보글럼이 설계한 공원 내 동상 주변의 공개 담론에 대응해 시작됐다.이 동상에 대한 비판론자들은 보르글럼이 쿠 클룩스 클랜과 연관되어 있고, 군사공원에 있는 그의 동상의 화강암 기지가 조지아 주 스톤 마운틴의 연합 기념비에서 사용된 바위에서 재활용되었다는 사실에 주목했다.틸렛과 파버는 예술가인 자멜 샤바즈, 차카이아 부커, 마누엘 아체베도에게 군사공원에 공공미술 설치를 제안하도록 의뢰했다.
