잭 사르간트(1994년 출생)는 웨일스 노동당 정치인이자 스렌드(Senedd) 의원(MS)으로, 2018년 2월 보궐선거에 이어 아버지 칼 사르간트의 뒤를 이은 알린과 디사이드 선거구를 대표한다.
배경
사르간트는 1994년 플린트의 루들란에서 태어나 코나의 퀘이 고등학교를 다녔다. 그는 Wrexham에 있는 Glyndŵr 대학에서 학위를 이수하기 전에 Deeside 대학에서 공학 견습생으로 공부했다. 그리고 DRB에서 일했다.[2]
2018년 2월 6일 치러진 보궐선거에서 알린과 디사이드의 MS에 당선됐다. 그는 2017년 11월 칼이 자살로 사망한 뒤 아버지였던 전 현직 칼 사르간트의 뒤를 이었다.[3][4] 23세의 나이에 잭 사르겐트는 국회의사당(현 세네드)에 당선되면서 역대 최연소 AM(현 MS)이 되었다.[5]
캠페인
Sargeant는 매년 9월 10일에 열리는 세계 자살 예방의 날을 지지하는 적극적인 운동가다. 그는 영국에서 매주 스스로 목숨을 끊는 84명의 남자들의 이름을 딴 "The 84"라는 이니셔티브를 시작했다.[6]
The initiative is backed by major sports clubs in Wales, including Cardiff City F.C., Swansea City A.F.C.,[7] Newport County A.F.C.,[8] Wrexham A.F.C. and Connah's Quay Nomads F.C., who all agreed to share suicide prevention messages with the hashtag #ItsOkNotToBeOk to support the campaign.[6] 클럽들은 또한 자살 예방 메시지를 9월 14일과 15일 주말 경기일에 사마리아인들을 포함시키고 버킷 콜렉션을 여는 것과 같은 고정장치에 포함시키기 위해 노력해왔다.[7]
