HDP(Heritage Documentation Programs, Heritical American Buildings Survey, HAER(Historic American Engineering Record), HALS(Historic American Teacle Survey, History American Survey)의 관리를 담당하는 미국 국립공원 서비스(NPS)의 사단이다. 이 프로그램들은 미국의 역사적인 장소를 기록하기 위해 설립되었다. 기록물은 측정된 도면, 보관 사진, 서면 보고서 등으로 구성되며, 의회도서관 인화사진과에 보관된다.

1933년, NPS는 찰스 E의 제안에 따라 미국 역사 건축 조사를 설립했다. 기획사의 젊은 조경가 피터슨. 대공황으로 실업자가 된 건축가, 드래프트맨, 사진작가들을 위한 건설적인 작업 프로그램으로 설립되었다. 1935년 사적지법을 통해 지원되었다.[2][3][4][5]

워싱턴 D.C.의 현장 지시에 따라, 최초의 HABS 레코더들은 미국의 건축 유산에 대한 대표적인 샘플 샘플을 문서화하는 임무를 맡았다.[6] 그들은 '콜럼비아 이전부터 20세기까지 4만3천개가 넘는 역사적 구조물 및 유적지에 대해 581,000개 이상의 측정 도면, 대형 사진, 서면 이력 및 원본 현장 노트를 축적하는 다중 형식 조사를 수행하면서 미국의 구축 환경을 문서화하기 시작했다.[2] HABS는 역사적 아키텍처의 아카이브를 구축함으로써 당시 초기 단계였던 역사적 보존 운동을 위한 기본 소스 자료와 문서화 데이터베이스를 제공했다.[7]

초기 민간 프로젝트에는 엘레노어 레이먼드의 펜실베이니아 초기 국내 건축(1931), 찰스 모스 스토츠의 서부 펜실베이니아 건축 조사, 건축 모노그래프의 화이트 파인 시리즈 등이 포함되었다.[6] 그들의 많은 기고자들은 나중에 HABS 프로그램에 참여했다.

미국 역사 공학 기록

History American Engineering Record 프로그램은 1969년 1월 10일 NPS와 미국 토목 공학 협회에 의해 설립되었다. HAER은 역사적인 기계 및 엔지니어링 유물을 문서화한다.[17][18][19]

HAER의 등장 이후, 결합 프로그램은 일반적으로 "HABS/HAER"라고 불린다. 오늘날 HABS/HAER의 많은 작업은 여름 동안 또는 대학 학점 수업의 일환으로 학생 팀에 의해 이루어진다. Eric DeLony는 1987년부터 2003년까지 HAER를 이끌었다.[20]

역사적 미국 풍경 조사

2000년 10월, NPS와 미국 조경협회(American Scriptures Survey)는 자매 프로그램인 Historic American Sconditions Survey를 설립하여 미국의 역사적 풍경을 체계적으로 기록하였다.[21] 전임자인 History American Garden and Garden Project는 1935년에서 1940년 사이에 역사적인 매사추세츠 정원을 기록했다. 그 프로젝트는 작업 공정 관리국에서 자금을 지원받았지만, 기록 수집을 감독하는 HABS가 관리했다.[22]

2001년, 의회 도서관, 국립 조경협회, 미국 조경협회와 함께 세 기관 간의 업무 관계를 수립하는 양해각서를 체결했다. 이 협정의 서명에 따라, 이 단체들은 2010년에 함께 3자 협정에 서명하여 "HALS는 영구적인 연방 프로그램"을 만들었다.[23]

NPS는 HALS의 계획과 운영을 다루고 형식을 표준화하며 경관 녹화를 위한 가이드라인을 개발한다.[23]

의회 도서관
