해로게이트 스프링워터는 2000년 8월 16일 영국 노스요크셔주 해로게이트에서 플라스틱과 유리병용 샘물을 제조해 전 세계에 유통하는 민간 유한회사다.온천수는 16세기 하로게이트에서 처음 발견되었는데, 1740년대부터 마을에서만 유리병에 담긴 물이 발견되었다.[2]

원천

메인 스프링은 해로게이트 파인우드 아래에 있는 맷돌 그릿 시리즈의 대수층에서 공급된다.[3][4]The Carry Planet 브랜드는 모래와 자갈에 위치한 대수층에서 물을 가져간다.[5]

역사

2000년 8월에 설립되었으며, 초기에는 HSW Limited라는 이름으로 2002년 1월에 출시되었다.[6]해로게이트 스파워터는 생수를 제조하여 국내, 국내, 국제적으로 판매하며 호주만큼 먼 곳으로 수출되고 있다.

2020년 대주주 분배에 변화가 생겨 다논이 대주주가 되면서 가인 일가가 소유권에서 멀어지게 되었다.[7][8][9]

이 회사는 이전에 하로게이트 워터 브랜드가 소유하고 있었는데,[10] 하로게이트 워터 브랜드는 자선단체인 '칼리 플래닛'도 소유하고 있어 자체 브랜드 생수를 생산했다.[10]

2021년, 해로게이트 스프링워터가 자원 봉사자들과 지역 초등학교 아이들이 심은 기존의 삼림지대와 자연 서식지를 파괴하려 했기 때문에, 해로게이트 주민들은 병입식물을 목축지로 확장하려는 계획을 비판하였다.[11][12]

시장

해로게이트 스프링워터는 2013년 연간 4300만 리터(950만 imp gal, 1100만 US gal)가 넘게 팔릴 정도로 영국 내 인기 브랜드로 시장점유율 1.4%[13]를 기록했다.2019년에는 2160만 파운드의 매출을 달성했다.[7]또한 모든 영국 주요 항공사(즉, 브리티시 에어웨이즈, 버진 애틀랜틱, Jet2.com, TUI 에어웨이즈, 이지젯[14])는 그들의 비행기에 탑승한 해로게이트 워터를, 그리고 브리티시 에어웨이의 경우 런던 히드로의 프리미엄 라운지에서 승객을 태운다.

해로게이트 스프링워터는 노스요크셔 주 아이스큐에 있는 메이슨스 진 증류소에도 물을 공급한다.[15][16]
