크롤 스톤
Crowle Stone
크롤 스톤은 링컨셔 크롤에 있는 세인트 오스왈드 영국 교구 교회 뒤편에 있는 앵글로색슨 십자가의 잔해다.[1][2]
이것은 원래 교차 갱도로 조각되었고 1919년까지 서쪽 문 위의 보풀로 사용되었다.[1][2]이 돌의 보존은 1150년 교회가 세워졌을 때 노르만인 석공들이 그것을 재사용한 결과 거의 확실하다.[3]
이 돌의 높이는 6피트 11인치(2.11m)이고 두께는 16인치(410mm), 너비는 8.5인치(220mm)이다.
그 돌은 세 면에 모두 정교하게 조각되어 있다.한 면의 바닥에는 교차축이 950년 이전으로 추정되며, 그 때까지 룬의 사용이 거의 없어졌다.
