몬태나 주의 쿠퍼 화기는 1990년 댄 쿠퍼와 오리건 주의 킴버 전 직원 2명에 의해 설립되었다.

역사

쿠퍼는 저렴한 주문 제작 품질의 정확한 소총을 만들기 위해 만들어졌다. 그들이 말하듯이 "리플은 보기만큼 잘 쏘아야 하고, 그 반대의 경우도 마찬가지야"[2]라고 했다. 모든 쿠퍼 소총은 정확성 보장을 가지고 있다. 림파이어에 대한 보증은 50야드(46m)에서 0.25인치(6.4mm)에 5발이고,[3] 중앙화재에 대해서는 100야드(91m)에서 0.5인치(13mm)에 3발이다.

정치 기부 논란

2008년 10월 27일 버락 오바마 대통령을 지지하는 경영진들이 이 캠페인의 재정적 지지자로 댄 쿠퍼를 지명하는 USA 투데이 기사가 실렸다.[11] 댄 쿠퍼가 친군 통제 대통령 후보를 지지하고 자신의 선거운동에 수천 달러를 기부했다는 사실이 알려지자 곧 총기 관련 웹 포럼과 블로그에 파문이 일었다. 총기 소유주들과 블로그들은 그의 회사에 대한 보이콧을 요구하는 뉴스에 반응했다.[1]

2008년 10월 28일까지 쿠퍼 화기는 자사 홈페이지에 메시지를 공개하면서 회사 자체가 어떤 식으로든 기여하지 않았다는 점을 지적하고 쿠퍼의 기여를 명확히 했다.[12]

2008년 10월 29일, 쿠퍼 화기는 웹사이트에 이 메시지를 업데이트하여 이사회가 댄 쿠퍼에게 회사의 CEO에서 물러나라고 요청했다.[13] 2008년 10월 30일 USA 투데이의 기사에서 댄 쿠퍼는 그가 정말로 CEO에서 사임했다는 것을 확인했다.[1]
