호주 북부 클라렌스 해협은 호주 본토에서 멜빌 섬을 분리한다. 또한 서쪽의 비글 만과 동쪽의 반다이멘 만을 연결한다. 다윈시에서 북쪽으로 약 50km(31mi) 떨어져 있다.

관리상태

2007년 4월 4일, 클라렌스 해협이 점령한 지역의 대부분은 북부 영토 정부에 의해 버논 제도라는 이름을 가진 지역으로서 관보에 게재되었다. 그 지역은 기존의 어떤 지방 정부 지역에도 추가되지 않았으며 북부 영토의 비법인 지역에 속하는 것으로 간주된다.[2][3][4]
