Cahela는 1939년 Carl Heinrich에 의해 기술된 단형 코나방속이다.그것의 유일한 종인 카헬라 폰데로셀라는 1918년 윌리엄 반즈와 제임스 할리데이 맥도너프에 의해 기술된 나방으로 멕시코와 미국의 캘리포니아, 텍사스, 애리조나, 유타 그리고 아마도 ^[7]네바다 주에서 발견된다.

날개 폭은 약 38mm이다.앞날개는 가늘고 갈색빛이 도는 회색이며, 혈관을 따라 검은색 세로줄이 나 있습니다.뒷날개는 흰 테두리와 함께 흰색이며 앞날개보다 훨씬 넓다.어른들은 3월부터 6월까지 출항한다.

애벌레는 원통형 분추류의 줄기를 먹고 산다.
