중독은 1903년 영국 알코올 중독학회가 영국 알코올 중독학 저널(British Journal of Alcohol and other Drugs of Alcohority of Alcohol and the British Journal of Ineverriety)로 설립한 월간 동료 검토 과학 저널이다. 1947년에 영국 알코올 중독 저널 & 기타 약물로 개칭되었다가 1980년에 영국 중독 저널로 개칭되었다가 1993년에 마침내 현재의 이름을 얻었다.[1] 그것은 행동 중독뿐만 아니라 알코올, 불법 마약, 담배의 남용과 관련된 연구를 다룬다.[2] 편집장은 존 마스든(킹스 칼리지 런던)이다.
