Abu Hamza Rabia

아부 함자 라비아(Abu Hamza Rabia,/// About this soundhear)는 알카에다의 이집트인으로, 뉴스 계정에서 조직 서열 내의 고위 지도자로 묘사되었다. 그가 CIA의 기습적인 드론 공격으로 사망한 것은 전 세계 언론에 대대적으로 보도되었다.[1][2][3]

미국 정보 관리들에 따르면, 라비아는 알카에다의 3번째 지휘관이었다. 비록 CNN의 보도가 그의 이집트 출신을 확인했고 그가 30대라는 것을 나타내긴 했지만 그의 배경에 대해서는 거의 알려지지 않았다.[1] 그와 다른 네 명의 남자들, 그 중 두 명은 아랍인이기도 한, 북 와지리스탄의 수도 미란샤 근처의 아소레이 마을에서 살해되었다.[2] 그의 죽음은 파키스탄에서 미군이 허용되지 않는 정책이었기 때문에 논란을 일으켰다.[1][4] 당초 미국과 파키스탄 당국은 이번 공습이 미국의 프레데터 무인기에서 발사된 것이라는 사실을 부인했다.
