젊은 글로벌 리더들의 포럼, 또는 젊은 글로벌 리더들 (YGL)은 세계 경제 포럼의 설립자인 클라우스 슈밥에 의해 만들어졌습니다.스위스 제네바에서 운영되는 비영리단체 YGL은 스위스 정부의 관리를 받고 있습니다.그것은 세계경제포럼에 의해서 운영됩니다.

역사

이 프로그램은 1992년 세계경제포럼(WEF)의 클라우스 슈밥(Klaus Schwab)이 "미래를 위한 글로벌 리더(Global Leaders for Tomorrow)"라는 이름으로 설립해 2003년 영 글로벌 리더(Young Global Leaders)[1]로 이름을 바꿨습니다.

Schwab은 Dan David Prize로부터 100만 달러를 받아 그룹을 만들었고,[2] 2005년 첫 번째 클래스는 237명의 젊은 리더들로 구성되었습니다.

비지니스위크의 브루스 누스바움(Bruce Nussbaum)은 젊은 글로벌 리더들을 "세계에서 가장 독점적인 사설 소셜 네트워크"라고 설명하는 반면,[3] 조직 자체는 선발된 리더들을 "미래를 위한 목소리와 다음 세대의 희망"을 대표한다고 설명합니다.

선택과정

70개국을 대표하는 젊은 글로벌 리더들은 동문들에 의해 6년 임기로 지명되며, 선발 과정에서 거부권이 주어집니다.지원자는 합격 당시 38세 미만이어야 하며(적극적인 YGL은 44세 이하임), 자신의 분야에서 높은 성취도를 지녀야 합니다.[4][5][6]지난 몇 년 동안, 정치, 사업, 학계, 언론, 그리고 예술 분야에서 인정받는 높은 성취자와 혁신가들과 함께, 몇몇 인기 있는 연예인들을 포함하여, 수 백 명의 명예로운 사람들이 있었습니다.[7]

선발 과정에는 전형과 면접이 포함됩니다.[8]매년 약 100개의 YGL이 선정됩니다.

캐나다 보수당 정치인인 미셸 렘펠은 자신이 2016년 스팸메일이라고 생각하는 이메일을 통해 젊은 글로벌 리더로 선정된 사실을 알게 됐다고 말하며, 2017년 회의는 "본질상 조금 더 세계적이고 더 많은 유명 정치인과 CEO들이 참석한 가운데 열린 것이라면 학술회의와 느낌이 다르지 않다"[9]고 설명했습니다.

리더스 프로젝트

2007년에, 젊은 글로벌 리더들은 Table for Two라는 프로그램을 시작했고 개발도상국의 영양실조와 선진국의 비만 둘 다를 예방하는 것을 목표로 했습니다.[10]

2010년, Young Global Leader Wikipedia와 Wikia 설립자 Jimmy Wales와 Operation HOPE 설립자 John Hope Bryant(또 다른 Young Global Leader)는 카사블랑카 증권거래소의 사장 Karim Hajj와 함께 Wikia-Operation HOPE Global Money Initiative를 결성했습니다.개인적인 재정적인 권한을 부여하는 교육과정을 프랑스어와 아랍어의 현지 북아프리카 방언으로 번역했습니다.[11]
