쇼비는 영국 레스터셔 주 멜튼 구역 그림스턴 교구에 있는 [1]레스터에서 북동쪽으로 12마일(19km) 떨어진 햄릿이자 옛 시민 교구입니다.2000년에는 인구가 [2]39명으로 추정되었다.1931년에 그 교구의 인구는 [3][4]49명이었다.쇼비의 거주자였던 그레고리 브룩스비는 1632년에 [2]레스터셔의 보안관이 되었다.

역사

"쇼비"라는 이름은 '시그발드의 농장/정착지'[5]를 의미합니다.쇼비는 돔스데이 북에 [6]설데스베리라고 기록되어 있다.쇼비는 1350년에서 1400년 사이에 흑사병이나 변두리 [7]땅으로부터의 후퇴로 인해 버려진 중세 마을이다.쇼비는 수도원을 가지고 있었고,[8] 지금은 건물 한 채가 있다.이 건물은 이전에는 수도원(Priory Farmhouse)이었고 지금은 "쇼비 수도원(Shoby Priory)"으로 불리며 2급에 등록된 [9]건물이다.쇼비는 교구외 지역이었고 1858년에 교구가 되었고 1936년 4월 1일에 교구는 폐지되고 그림스턴과 [10]합병되었다.
