사울 H. 두보우, FRHistS (1959년 10월 28일생)는 남아프리카 공화국의 역사학자 겸 학술가로, 19세기와 20세기 남아프리카 공화국의 역사에 특화된 인물이다. 2016년부터는 캠브리지대 스머츠 영연방사학과 교수, 캠브리지 막달렌대학 교수로 재직 중이다. 그는 이전에 서섹스 대학교와 런던 대학교의 퀸 메리 대학교에서 가르쳤다.
조기생활과 교육
두보우는 1959년 10월 28일 남아프리카 공화국의 케이프타운에서 태어났다.[1] 그는 케이프 타운 대학에서 공부했고 1981년에 예술 학사 학위를 받았다.[1][2] 그 후 그는 영국으로 건너가 옥스퍼드 대학에서 대학원 공부를 시작했다.[3] 옥스포드 주 세인트 안토니우스 칼리지의 일원으로서 1986년 철학 박사학위를 수료했다.[1] 그의 박사학위 논문은 '남아공에서의 인종차별과 '민족 행정', 1920~1936년'[4]이라는 제목으로 그의 첫 저서 인종 차별과 인종 차별의 기원(1989년)의 기초를 형성했다.
학력
1987년부터 1989년까지 두보우는 런던대학교 영연방연구소의 영국 아카데미 박사후 연구원이었다.[2][1] 그 후 1989년 강사로 서섹스 대학교로 옮겼다.[1] 그 사이에 몇 년 동안 수석 강사와 독자로 승진된 그는 2001년에 역사학 교수로 임명되었다.[1][5] 그는 2012년 예술 인문 연구 위원회 펠로우쉽을 받았다.[6] 2013년, 그는 런던 대학교의 퀸 메리 대학으로 옮겨갔고, 그곳에서 아프리카 역사학 교수로 임명되었다.[2][3]
