프린스 에드워드 로드 MRT 역은 싱가포르 다운타운 코어의 서클 라인에 있는 미래의 지하매스 래피드 트랜짓(MRT) 역이다. 이 역은 하버프런트 역과 마리나베이 역 사이의 "원"을 닫게 될 서클의 6단계에 속하는 역이다. 그것은 케펠 로드와 파머 로드의 교차점 근처에 있는 선튼 웨이(Shenton Way)를 따라 지어졌다.
2015년에 처음 발표된 이 방송국은 원래 에드워드 왕자라는 워킹 이름을 가지고 있었다. 이 역은 2017년에 착공되었다. 2018년에는 국토 교통국(LTA)의 명명 투표에서 에드워드 왕자로 명명되었다. 이 역은 다른 CCL6 역과 함께 2025년에 개통될 예정이었으나 싱가포르에서 COVID-19 대유행으로 인해 2026년으로 연기되었다.[3]
역사
이 역은 2015년 10월 29일 서클 노선 6단계의 일부로 처음 발표되었다.[4] 프린스 에드워드 역 및 관련 터널 건설 계약 885호가 2017년 10월 총 3억 1,080만 달러(2억 2,507만 달러)로 중국 철도 터널 그룹 주식회사(싱가포르 지사)에 낙찰됐다. 2017년 말 공사가 시작돼 2026년 완공이 예상된다.[5][6]
'에드워드 로드 프린스', '팔머 로드', '파리 로드' 등 3개 역명이 토지 교통국(LTA)의 공표를 위해 최종 명단에 올랐다. 그 후 역명은 프린스 에드워드 로드(Prince Edward Road)로 마무리되었다.[2][7][8]
2020년 3월 8일 역 지하 지붕 슬래브의 콘크리트 주조가 완료되었다. TBM(Tunnel Boring Machine) 선우(Sun Wu)도 인접한 광동역 방향으로 튜닝링 작업의 절반을 완성했다.[9] COVID-19 대유행으로 인해, 그 바이러스의 확산을 막기 위해 튜닝 작업이 잠시 중단되었다.[10] 9월, 선우 TBM은 구 탄종 파가르 기차역 건물 아래에 간신히 터널을 뚫었다. 정거장을 향한 튜닝은 정거장의 조각과 내부에 손상을 입히지 않도록 설치된 장치를 사용하여 면밀한 모니터링이 필요했다.[11]

프린스 에드워드 로드 역은 베스트웨이 빌딩과 호크 펙 시 템플과 마스지드 하지 무함마드 살레의 유산 건물 근처에 위치하게 된다. MRT역 건설을 위해 2017년 6월 24일 선턴웨이 버스 터미널이 이전되었다.[12][13][14]
역에는 지하 3층, 승강장 2개가 쌓이게 된다.[9] 이 역의 크기는 297m(974ft)x48m(157ft)x30m(98ft)가 될 것이다.[15]
