Porter Garnett
포터 가넷(Porter Garnett, 1871년 3월 12일 ~ 1951년 3월 21일)은 극작가, 평론가, 편집자, 사서, 교사, 프린터였다.
전기
포터 가넷은 1871년 샌프란시스코에서 태어났다.샌프란시스코의 문학계에서 활약하고 보헤미안 그로브에서 희곡을 쓰고 연출하는 보헤미안 클럽의 회원이기도 했다.1896년, 그는 겔렛 버지스와 브루스 포터가 전년에 설립한 The Lark에 가입했다.1907년 그는 버클리 캘리포니아 대학의 밴크로프트 도서관 부 큐레이터가 되었다.[1][2]
1922년 가넷은 펜실베이니아주 피츠버그에 있는 카네기공과대학 그래픽아트의 교수가 되어 인쇄의 전통, 발전, 이상을 가르쳤다.그곳에서 그는 1935년 언론이 폐간할 때까지 전국에서 유일하게 미세 인쇄를 가르치는 프로그램으로 연구소 출판사를 설립했다.출판부는 인쇄술에 있어서 유일하게 훌륭한 예술로서 교육에 전념한 사람 중 한 명이었다.[1][3]1932년 AIGA 훈장을 받았다.[4][5][6]
