피터 코젠스(Peter Cozens, 1957년 출생)는 미국의 역사학자 겸 은퇴한 미 외무부 관리다. 그는 미국 남북전쟁과 미국 인디언 전쟁에 관한 17권 이상의 책을 쓰고 편집했다.[1][2]

'지구가 울고 있다'는 인디언 전쟁이 미국 서부를 위한 총체적 의미를 기록한다. 코젠스는 레드클라우드가 주도한 1866년 저항운동으로 이야기를 시작한다.
