Penn & Teller Tell a Lie는 Penn Jillette와 Teller가 주연한 6부작 시리즈다.각 에피소드마다 6~7개의 스토리가 담겨 있는데,[2] 마지막 스토리로 방송 녹화 중 진행자들이 직접 시연하는 모습이 담겨 있다.그 중 하나는 거짓이고, 나머지는 진실이다.매 방송 중 시청자들은 디스커버리 홈페이지에서 투표를 통해 어떤 이야기가 거짓인지 추측할 수 있으며, 회가 끝날 때 정답과 투표 결과가 공개된다.

이 시리즈는 2011년 10월 5일 수요일부터 디스커버리 채널에서 방영되었다.[3][4]이 쇼는 2012년 5월 2일에 초연된 채널 퀘스트를 통해 영국에서도 방송된다.

개발

2011년 4월 14일, 펜과 텔러는 그들의 이전 쇼인 펜 & 텔러: 개소리!가 끝났고 새로운 쇼인 펜 & 텔러: '우주의 비밀'은 디스커버리 채널에서 시작될 것이다.[5]이 쇼는 후에 펜 & 텔러 텔 어 거짓말이라는 이름으로 바뀌었다.[6]
