호주는 PSS Remeliik II를 태평양 포럼 경비정 PSS Remelik을 대체하기 위해 Palau를 위해 건설하고 있다.[1] 1980년대 후반과 1990년대 초반 호주는 작은 이웃들이 자신들의 주권을 보호할 수 있도록 작은 경비정을 만들어 태평양 포럼에서 그들을 도왔다. 유엔해양법협약(UNCLOS)은 모든 해양국가의 해안에서 배타적 경제수역(EEZ)을 200km(120mi)나 연장했으며 태평양의 작은 섬나라들이 EEZ를 보호하는 것은 엄청난 문제가 될 것이다.

레멜리크 2세는 2020년 12월 4일에 임관되었다.[7]

《가디언》은 2020년 12월 15일 레멜리크 2호가 불법조업 혐의로 중국 어선을 억류했다고 보도했으며,[8] 이 어선에서 225kg(496lb)의 해삼이 발견됐다. 해삼은 아시아 시장에서 kg당 800달러에 팔릴 수 있다.
