역사

오픈ALPR은 원래 매트 힐이 이끄는 2인조 팀이 개발했다.[1] 오픈 소스 소프트웨어는 2015년 말에 무료 다운로드로 이용 가능해졌다.[4] 2016년 3월에는 OpenALPR이 유료 클라우드 API 서비스를[5] 시작했으며, 2017년 2월에는 Axis Communications 카메라용 OpenALPR 에이전트를 도입했다.[6]

2017년 8월 호주 웹 개발사인 타이트 브라운이 오픈ALPR을 이용해 빅토리아 폴리스의 8600만 AUD 프로젝트의 대안을 만들면서 유명해졌다.[7] 2018년 3월에 ProgrammableWeb은 OpenALPR을 인식 API 목록에 추가했다.[8]

소프트웨어

OpenALPR은 C++[9]로 작성된 자동 번호판 인식 라이브러리다. 소프트웨어는 상용 클라우드 기반 버전과[1] 오픈 소스 버전으로 배포된다.[3][10] OpenALPR은 OpenCV와 Teseract OCR 라이브러리를 사용한다. 명령줄 유틸리티, 독립 실행형 라이브러리 또는 백그라운드 프로세스로 실행될 수 있다. 이 소프트웨어는 또한 마일스톤 XProtect와 같은 비디오 관리 시스템(VMS)과도 통합된다.[11]
