미셸 스피로(Michel Spiro, 1946년 2월 24일 프랑스 루아르 로안느에서 출생)는 프랑스의 물리학자다.

전기

Michel Spiro는 고등학교에서 Jean-Puy de Roanne을 다녔다.스피로는 1963년에 바칼로레아트를 획득했고, 초등 수학에 특화되었다.이 후, 그는 에콜 폴리테크니크에서 입학 시험을 준비하기 위해 리세 루이 르 그랑 학교에 다녔다.그는 1969년에 이론 물리학 대학원 과정을 마쳤다.

미셸 스피로는 2016년부터 2017년까지[9] 프랑스물리학회 회장, 2018년 현재 국제순수응용물리학연합(IUPAP) 회장 당선자를 지냈다.[10]2019년 10월 스피로는 개인적인 이유로 사임하고자 했던 케네디 리드 IUPAP 총재의 후임으로 요청받았다.[11][12][13]

미셸 스피로는 2020년 6월 유럽원자력연구기구(European Organization for Nuclear Research)인 CERN의 사명을 지원하고 홍보하며 그 혜택을 보다 넓은 대중에게 전파하기 위한 [14]재단인 CERN 및 사회재단 이사회 의장으로 임명되었다.

스피로는 지속가능발전을 위한 국제기초과학의 해(IYBSSD2022) 운영위원장을 맡고 있다.국제 해는 2021년 12월 2일 유엔총회 제76차 회의에서 선포되었다.[15]IYBSSD는 2022년 중반에 시작하여 2023년 중반까지 연장될 것이다.
