아폴로 8호에서 남쪽으로 향한 사선
맥클레어는 작은 달 충돌 분화구다.그것은 유명한 분화구 콜롬보의 동쪽에 위치한 마레 페쿤디타티스 서쪽 가장자리를 따라 위치해 있다.맥클레어의 북쪽에는 비슷한 크로지에가 있고, 남서쪽에는 더 큰 쿡이 있다.바깥 테두리는 거의 원형이며 크게 마모되지 않았다.내벽은 다소 불규칙한 내부 바닥으로 경사져 있다.맥클루어 C는 북서 림 외부에 부착되어 있다.
위성 분화구
관례에 따라 이러한 특징들은 달 지도에서 맥클루어와 가장 가까운 분화구 중간 지점의 측면에 글자를 배치함으로써 확인된다.
