마틀라 강은 인도 서벵골주 남부 24 파르가나스 지구의 순다르반스 안과 주변에 넓은 하구를 형성한다.
마틀라 강의 본류는 푸란다르 근처에서 두 팔로 나뉘어 있다. 하나는 쿨탈리-가란보스를 거쳐 순다르반을 통과한다. 다른 하나는 바산티, 파탄칼리, 수르자베리아, 마스지드바티를 지나 비야드하리 강을 만난다.[1]
Lateral connections of the Matla system on the west are Belladonna River, Kultala River, the Piyali-Nabipukur River, the Bainchapi Khal, the Kaikalmari River, the Suia River, the Dulibhasani Gang, and the Gokhaltali Gang, On the eastern side the main connections with the Gosaba and Raimangal systems are more intricate and many of the channels are y이름을 붙여야 한다.
