킬켈리(Irish: Cill Chealaigh, '셀라흐의 교회'[2]라는 뜻)는 아일랜드 킬무브 교구 마요 카운티에 있는 작은 마을이다.갈웨이와 슬리고 사이를 오가는 국민경선도로인 N17 노크온 아일랜드 서부공항 바로 남쪽에 있다.

역사

건축유산

그 지역에 고대 정착한 증거로는 리스코스커 타운랜드의 링포트 유적지가 있다.[3]교회와 묘지의 유적이 포함된 킬켈리 마을 남쪽에 있는 초기 교회 유적지는 역사적으로 세인트 켈리우스(또는 셀라흐)와 연관되어 있다.[3]마을 북쪽에 있는 현대 로마 가톨릭 성 켈수스 교회는 로마 가톨릭 아촌리 교구에 있다.[4]15세기 중엽에 해당하는 수도원 유적지 urlaur Abba도 인근에 있다.[5]

이민

킬켈리는 노래의 주제다.미국 작곡가 피터 존스의 "킬켈리, 아일랜드"1980년대에 존스는 킬켈리에 있는 조상의 아버지로부터 미국에 있는 아일랜드 이민 조상으로 보낸 19세기 편지 모음집을 발견했다.[5][6]존스는 그 편지들의 내용을 바탕으로 발라드를 썼는데, 이민으로 헤어진 다른 사람들뿐만 아니라 자기 가족의 경험을 전했다.[5][6][7]

킬켈리는 다수의 상점, 약국,[8] 신용조합 지점,[9] 우체국을 가지고 있다.[10]2010년 현재, 지역 국립(1차) 학교는 50명 이상의 학생이 등록되어 있다.[11]
