존 P. 칼린은 2021년 1월부터 4월까지 미국 법무부에서 법무차관 대행으로 근무한 미국 변호사 겸 정부 관료다.[2][3]2021년 4월부터 리사 모나코 법무차관의 밑에서 법무차관을 겸임하고 있다.[4]앞서 2014년 4월부터 2016년 10월 15일까지 국가안보국(NSD) 미국 차관을 지냈고,[5][6] 연방수사국(FBI) 국장 시절 로버트 뮬러 비서실장을 지냈다.[7][8]
교육
칼린은 윌리엄스 칼리지에서 예술 학사 학위를, 하버드 로스쿨에서 주리스 닥터를 받았다.칼린은 하버드에 있는 동안 하버드 법학 저널의 기사 편집자였다.
경력
칼린은 법무장관 훈장 프로그램을 통해 미국 법무부에 입사했다.칼린은 Aspen Institute의 사이버보안 및 기술 정책 프로그램을 맡고 있으며 벨퍼 과학국제문제센터의 펠로였다.[9]칼린은 조 바이든 대통령으로부터 법무차장 직무대행을 맡게 된 2021년 1월 21일까지 모리슨 앤 포어스터의 파트너였다.[10][2][3]
