존 콕세드

John Coxed

존 콕세드(John Coxed, 1757년 사망)[1]는 1730년부터 1740년까지 옥스퍼드주 뉴 칼리지의 관리인 영어학부였다.[2]

인생

콕세드는 옥스퍼드셔의 버크넬에서 존 콕세드 목사의 아들이다.그는 뉴 칼리지에서 교육을 받았으며, 그곳에서 1725년에 BCL, 1730년에 DCL을 졸업했다.[2]그는 1739년에 D.C.L. 학위가 아닌 LL.D. (Legum Doctor) 학위를 받았다.[3]

콕세드는 1740년부터 윈체스터 칼리지의 소장으로 재직하면서 뉴 칼리지의 전임자였던 헨리 빅을 대체했다.[1][4]

죽음과 가족

콕세드는 1757년에 사망했고 그의 미망인 세실리아는 윈체스터에 기념비적인 비문을 세웠다.[5]그녀는 아이작 셀프와 그의 아내 페넬로페 루카스의 딸로, 찰스 루카스 제2남작 루카스의 딸로, 이전에 제임스 월리스와 결혼했었다(1735년 사망). 그리고 1760년에 사망했다.[6]Paul Metuen MP는 그녀의 여동생 Anne의 아들이었다.[7]
