옥스퍼드의 경제사

아담 스미스는 1740년[2] 발리올 대학에서 대학원 과정을 밟았다.

이 학과의 비교적 최근의 설립에도 불구하고 옥스포드는 경제학 내에서 오랜 역사를 가지고 있다.

19세기에는 옥스포드 내에서 경제학이 확장되어 그레이트즈 학생들에게 정치 경제가 선택권으로 제공되었고, 1825년소울스 칼리지에 정치 경제의 드럼몬드 체어가 설립되었으며, 처음에는 나소 윌리엄 시니어(Nassau William Senior)에 의해 개최되었다.다른 19세기 옥스포드 경제학자들로는 아놀드 토인비, 프랜시스 이즈드로 엣지워스가 있다.[3][4]
