Ian Birrell

이안 버렐은 영국 언론인이자 데이비드 캐머런 총리의 연설문 작성자 출신이다.[1]그는 i와 UnHerd를 포함한 몇몇 신문사의 칼럼니스트였다.[2][3]1998년부터 2010년까지 버렐은 The Independent의 편집국 부국장을 지냈다.

교육

버렐은 노스요크셔의 앰플포스 마을(현재의 남녀공학)의 로마 가톨릭 기숙형 독립학교인 [4]앰플포스 칼리지에서 교육을 받았고, 그 뒤를 애버딘 대학이 이었다.[4]

비렐은 간질병으로 의료용 대마초가 필요했던 북아일랜드 출신 12세 빌리 콜드웰의 사례를 영국에서 불법이라 어쩔 수 없이 해외에 나가 치료를 받게 된 사례에 대해 보도했다.이 보고서는 영국 정부가 법을 바꾸고 의료용 대마초를 합법화하도록 강요하는 스캔들을 만들었다.[13][14]
