글랜마이어(Irish: Gleann Maghair)[2]는 아일랜드 주 코크 카운티 코르크 주 라트코니의 시민 교구에 있는 코르크 시 중심 외곽 9km(5.6mi)의 마을이다.[3] 글랜마이어는 코르크 북-중앙 다일 선거구와 코르크 시의회의 행정 구역 내에 있다.

더 큰 글랜마이어 지역은 리버스타운(Baile Roisin), 브루클로드게(Cill Ruadhain), 샐리브룩(Ath Na Sayi)의 지역사회를 아우른다.

역사

글랜마이어의 역사는 초기 크리스천 아일랜드로 거슬러 올라가며,[4] 인근 교회 부지는 1291년부터 사용 중이다.[5] 리버스타운에 위치한 돌다리는 C.1760까지 거슬러 올라간다.[6] 마을 위 언덕에 위치한 교구 교회에서 교수형 당한 로버트 에밋의 연인 사라 커란은 1805년 헨리 스터전 대위와 결혼했다.[7]

1800년대에 글랜마이어는 작지만 산업화된 마을로, 양털 공장과 제분소가 글래샤보이 강둑에 늘어서 있었다.[8]

그 도시는 20세기 후반에 크게 확장되었다. 원래 코크 카운티 평의회가 관리하던 글란마이어는 2019년 도시의 경계 확장의 일환으로 코크 시의회 행정구역 내에 반입되었다.[9]

교육

글랜마이어 지역에 6개의 초등학교가 있다. These include Scoil na nÓg (An Irish Language, boarding and day boarding Primary School, founded in 1958),[10] Scoil Naomh Micheál (Saint Michael's - Upper Glanmire), Scoil Naomh Iosaf (Saint Joseph's - Riverstown), Scoil Chill Ruadháin (Brooklodge Primary School), New Inn and Gaelscoil Uí Drisceoil which opened in 2006.[11]

교회

글랜미어 패리쉬는 티볼리 듀얼 카웨이 중간에서 워터그래스힐에서 3마일 이내까지 연장한 뒤 템플마이클을 거쳐 화이트 크로스까지 이어진다.

글랜마이어에는 두 개의 가톨릭 교회가 있는데, 그것은 상층 글랜마이어에 있는 세인트 마이클 교회와 리버스타운에 있는 세인트 조셉 교회다. 성 미카엘은 구조조정에 따라 1808년 예배를 드리기 위해 헌납되었다.[18] 이 교회의 2백주년 기념식은 2008년에 거행되었고, 특별한 추수감사절 미사는 주교 존 버클리 주교와 함께 주요 축하자로 거행되었다.[18] 성 요셉은 글란미르 교구 교회로 1837년에 헌납되었다.[19] 둘 다 성 조셉과 세인트. 마이클의 집은 페놀 이전 교회나 그 근처에 지어졌다.[20]
