게리 로버트 하버마스(Gary Robert Habbermas, 1950년 출생)는 예수의 부활에 대해 자주 쓰고 강의하는 미국의 역사가 겸 신약성서학자다. 그는 역사예수와 신약학 분야의 학자들 사이에서 동향을 분류하고 전달하는 일을 전문으로 해왔다. 그는 뛰어난 연구 교수로 리버티 대학의 철학과 신학부 석좌를 맡고 있다.
인생과 경력
하버마스는 버지니아주 린치버그에 있는 리버티 대학교 철학과 의장으로 있는 저명한 박사학위 및 철학 교수다.[1] 그는 '예수의 부활: 이성적 탐구'라는 제목의 논문으로 미시간 주립대에서 역사와 종교철학 박사학위(1976년)를 받았고, 이전에는 디트로이트대에서 철학신학 석사학위(1973년)를 받았다.[2] 그는 역사예수와 신약학 분야의 학자들 사이에서 동향을 분류하고 전달하는 일을 전문으로 해왔다.[3]
1985년 하버마스는 3000명의 참석자가 참석하기 전에 당시 촉망받던 무신론자 및 증거주의 철학자 안토니우스 플라이(Antony Fly)에게 문자 그대로의 역사적/물리적 사건으로서의 예수의 부활에 대한 문제를 토론하였다.[citation needed] 5명의 철학자와 5명의 전문 토론 심사위원이 토론을 심사했다. 토론의 내용을 판단한 철학자들 중 4명은 하버마스가 이겼고 나머지 1명은 미정이라고 투표했다.[citation needed] 토론 기법에 대해 투표한 토론 심사위원 중 3명은 하버마스에, 2명은 Fly에게 투표했다.[3][citation needed]
