엠파이어! 엠파이어! (I Was a Lonely Estate)는 미시건 출신의 미국 이모[1][2] 밴드였다.원래 2006년 밴드 멤버 키스 라이나넨의 솔로 프로젝트로 결성되었다.이 밴드의 음악은 종종 광물이나 미식축구와 같은 90년대 이모 밴드를 연상시키는 감성적인 인디 록으로 묘사된다.이 밴드의 첫 번째 발매는 2007년 '바다가 거인이 되었을 때'라는 제목의 EP로 이루어졌다.이 밴드는 2009년에 정규 앨범인 What It Takes To Move Forward를 발매했다.이 밴드는 Count Your Lucky Stars Records에 계약되어 있으며, 엄격하게 대문자 없음(영국), 탑쉘프 레코드, 스틱 슬랙(일본), 홉들데호이 레코드(호주) 등 다수의 다른 레이블에 앨범을 발매했다.이 밴드는 2014년 8월 19일 두 번째 앨범을 발매했다.2016년 2월 16일, 밴드는 공식 페이스북을 통해 결별 전 마지막 투어를 발표했다.[3]

역사

2006-2008: Early Years

엠파이어! 엠파이어! (I Was a Lonely Estate!)는 키이스가 자신과 캐시의 현재 프로젝트인 안나 플라이어웨이에 대해 "녹음할 만큼 충분히 잘 할 수 있을 것"을 위해 단독 프로젝트로 시작했다.[4][5]그들은 안나 플라이어웨이 밑에서 음악을 만드는 것을 멈춘 후, 새로운 프로젝트를 계속했다.

그러던 중 2015년 1월 말 미시간 주 시골의 키이스와 캐시의 집에 픽업트럭을 몰던 술에 취한 남성이 들이받았다.운전자는 엠파이어!'의 주차된 밴을 들이받고 트럭을 집 앞에 세웠다.[26]새로운 중고 밴의 비용을 회수하기 위해, 기부를 위한 GoFundMe 페이지가 만들어졌다.이 같은 좌절에도 불구하고, 이 밴드는 워렌 프랭클린, 그리고 The Foundation Fathers와 함께 계획된 투어를 이어갔으며, 이 투어는 충돌 후 불과 4일 만에 시작되었다.[27]

4월 5일 엠파이어!엠파이어는 브라이드의 밥 난나의 보컬이 돋보이는 곡인 마지막 앨범에서 A Keepasake의 뮤직비디오를 공개했다.이 앨범은 음악 사이트 브루클린 비건에서만 발매되었으며, 이 밴드의 첫 번째 비디오였다.[35]

이름

라틴 아메리카 사람들은 이 밴드가 여전히 그의 솔로 프로젝트였을 때 이 밴드의 긴 이름을 생각했다.그는 "화려하고 예술적인" 것처럼 들리는 이름을 원했지만 만약 이 프로젝트가 완전한 밴드로 형성될 것을 알았다면 기억하기 쉬운 것을 선택했을 것이라고 인정한다.[36]

키이스는 그 이름을 다음과 같이 설명한다.
