브룸미트 피어로도 알려진 도어너 피어는 오리건 주에서 기록을 세운 코스트 더글러스 피르(Pseudotsuga menziesii var. menziesiii)로, 327피트(99.7m)의 삼나무가 아닌 세계에서 가장 높은 나무 중 하나이다.[2]
Doerner Fir는 1991년에 329피트(100.3m)의 높이로 측정되었으나 2008년에 가장 최근의 측정치로는 2피트(0.6m)가 빠졌다.[3]그것은 남부 태즈메이니아에 위치한 유칼립투스 섭정의 표본인 센츄리온과 대략 같은 높이와 보르네오에서 발견된 황색 메란티 중 가장 높은 것으로 알려진 표본이다.[4]
이 나무는 쿠스 카운티의 한 토지 관리국(BLM) 숲에서 자란다.[2][5]이 나무는 더글러스 카운티 청장이자 오랜 BLM 직원인 레이 도너(Ray Doerner)를 기리기 위해 이름이 바뀌기 전까지 배수 작업을 거쳐 브룸미트 피르(Brummitt Fir)라는 이름이 붙여졌다.[3]
