데스몬커스 폴리아칸토스(Desmoncus polyacantos, 자키타라 야자수)[4]는 카리브해 남부와 열대 남아메리카가 원산지인 가시가 있고 오르는 야자수다.줄기는 함께 뭉쳐 자라며, 길이는 2-12m, 지름은 0.5-2cm이다.쁘띠올레, 라치스, 권선, 족근은 짧고 구부러진 가시로 덮여 있다.[5]D. 폴리아칸토스 바. 폴리아칸토스[2] 바. 폴리아칸토스 바. 프루니퍼(Puppp)의 두 가지 품종이 인식된다.전 마트)[3] A.J.헨드
데스몬쿠스 폴리아칸토스는 콜롬비아, 베네수엘라, 세인트빈센트 및 그레나딘, 트리니다드 토바고, 가이아나, 수리남, 프랑스령 기아나, 브라질, 볼리비아, 에콰도르, 페루에서 발견된다.[1][5]줄기는 바구니와 체에 쓰인다.[5]
