데이비드 벤수산

David Bensoussan

데이비드 벤수산(David Bensoussan, 1947년 출생)은 모로코계 캐나다인 작가 겸 교육자다. 벤수산은 1980년부터 에콜 데 테크놀로지의 전기공학부에서 일해왔다.[1] 그는 모로코 유대인 공동체의 역사와 세파디 유대인 공동체에서의 지도적 역할로 가장 잘 알려져 있다.[2][3][4][5] 그는 세파라데 우니피에 뒤 퀘벡(United Sefardic Community of Quebec)의 회장을 역임했다.[6][7]

전기

벤수산은 맥길 대학에서 전기공학 박사학위를 보유하고 있다.

그는 모가도르에서 태어났고, 8살 때 가족이 더 큰 도시로 이사할 때까지 그곳에서 살았다.[1] 그의 가족은 그가 십대였을 때인 1965년에 모로코를 떠나 이스라엘로 갔다.[6] 그는 이스라엘에서 첫 학위를 받았고 1976년에 이스라엘에서 캐나다로 이주했다.[1]

시민참여

2012년까지 벤수산은 폴 마틴과 스티븐 하퍼 정부의 '안보에 관한 문화교류 라운드테이블'의 상임위원으로 활동했다. 2005년에 설립된 이 위원회는 여러 캐나다의 문화 공동체 및 정부 기관에서 온 저명한 회원들을 모아 정책과 프로그램 문제를 논의하고, 국가 당국과 유권자들 간의 대화를 촉진하고 이해를 강화하기 위해 설립되었다.[8][9]

벤수산은 어윈 코틀러가 의회를 대표할 때 적극적으로 지지했다.[10] 그는 캐나다 유대인 의회의 부통령을 역임했다.[11]
