DD 2로도 알려진 DD Metro는 인도의 무료 방송 채널이었다. 1984년 델리에서 DD2로 DD 내셔널의 대안으로 출시되었다. 이후 뭄바이, 콜카타, 첸나이 등으로 확대해 커버리지 면적을 늘렸다. 1993년, 이 채널은 DD-2 메트로로 재브랜드되었다.[1] 2003년 11월 3일 프라사르 바라티 주식회사는 DD 메트로사를 새로운 뉴스 채널인 DD 뉴스로 대체했다.[2]
DD 메트로 프로그래밍은 여성을 주인공으로 내세우는 가족 드라마, 코미디, 리얼리티 TV 쇼 등 많은 장르의 텔레비전 프로그램으로 구성되었다. 이 채널의 황금시간대 교대 메트로[3][4] 골드는 인도 텔레비전 역사의 랜드마크였으며, 2000년과 2001년에 인도어 엔터테인먼트 채널 1위로 스타플러스를 대체했다.[5] DD Metro는 또한 자매 채널인 DD National의 일부 TV 시리즈를 방송하곤 했다. 또한 DD 메트로에서는 영어영화와 다른 언어영화를 힌디어로 더빙하는 것으로도 알려져 있다.[6][7]
