코튼우드 부트는 미국 서부에 있는 산이며 수수한 스키 지역으로 코튼우드의 서쪽 아이다호 북부에 위치해 있다.그것의 정상 고도는 해발 5,730피트(1,747m)이며, 코튼우드 상공 2,100피트(640m)의 카마스 프레리에서 가장 높은 지점이다.

스키 지역

스키 리프트는 정상에서 약 160피트(50m) 아래 5,566피트(1,697m)에서 하역하며, 845피트(258m)의 수직 낙하물을 낸다.슬로프는 산의 북동쪽 측면에 있으며, T-bar와 밧줄 견인이라는 두 개의 표면 승강기가 있다.평균 강설량은 45인치(110cm)이다.

스키장은 55년 전인 1967년 문을 열었지만,[1][2] 스키장은 이전에 휴대용 스키 견인기로 산에서 열렸다.[3]

주말과 공휴일에는 오전 10시부터 오후 4시까지, 1월에는 금요일 밤(오후 6~10시)까지 운영된다.

레이더 기지

냉전 당시 산은 미 공군의 조기경보레이더 설치지인 코튼우드 공군기지였다.이 프로젝트는 1955년에 공개되었고,[4][5] 1956년에 착공되었으며,[6] 1959년 초에 가동되었다.[7]레이더 타워는 정상에 있었고 정거장은 4,400피트(1,340m)로, 레이더 로드에서 스키 구역의 현재 기지보다 약 1.6km 아래에 있었다.27가구 규모의 가족주택 구역은 북쪽 끝에 있는 Butte Drive에 있는 Cottonwood 시에 지어졌다.[8]

레이더는 1962년 새 타워로 대폭 업그레이드됐지만 3년 만에 노후화돼 비활성화된 것이다.[9][10]

잡 군단

이 협곡의 건물들은 1965년 미국 산림청의 감독을 받아 직업군단 센터가 되었다.[11]

교정시설

9년 후인 1974년 아이다호 주에 직업군 센터가 이관되었고, 최소 보안인 북아이다호 교정기관(NICI)으로 전환되었다.[12][13]

주 국토부는 정상회담에 소방망대를 구축해 각종 통신탑도 지원한다.[14]
