남부 연합 기념비는 미국 캘리포니아 주 로스앤젤레스 할리우드 포에버 묘지에 설치돼 태평양 연안에서 죽었거나 죽을 남부 연합군을 모두 기리는 기념비였다. 1925년 묘지 남부연합 구역에 세워져 2017년 8월 철거됐다.[1]

설명

현판의 인용구는 루드야드 키플링의 시 "성주님, 아직 우리와 함께 하시옵소서, 우리가 잊는 한에!"에서 따온 것이다.[2]

역사

이 기념비는 2017년 8월 15일 "운동가들이 철거를 요구하고 반달들이 등에 '아니오'라는 단어를 스프레이로 칠한 뒤 한밤중에 방수포로 뒤덮여 휙 사라졌다"[3][4]고 했다. 이는 지난 8월 11~12일 버지니아주 샬러츠빌에서 열린 백인 민족주의자 연합 더 라이트(United the Right) 집회에서 일어난 사건에서 영감을 얻었다.[1][5]
