역사
1926년 컬럼비아 대학교의 교육철학자 존 듀이(John Dewey)와 중국인 교육자 후시(Hu Shih, 후에 베이징 대학교 총장, 주미 중국 대사) 등 미국과 중국의 교육자들에 의해 설립되었습니다.[4]
차이나 인스티튜트는 중국 문화에만 전념하는 가장 오래된 교육 기관으로 여겨지며, 거의 100년 동안 백만 명의 방문객을 끌어 모았습니다.[5][6][7]1949년 중화인민공화국 수립 이후, 중국 본토와의 관계는 많이 사라졌습니다.[7]2015년에 중국 연구소는 어퍼 이스트 사이드에서 로어 맨하탄으로 다음 해에 옮길 계획을 발표했습니다.[6]워싱턴 가 100번지의 새로운 공간은 갤러리의 50주년과 동시에 2016년 11월에 문을 열었습니다.[8]
