BU Cru는 보석상자 [8]성단으로 더 잘 알려진 NGC 4775 산개 성단에서 가장 밝은 구성원 중 하나입니다.성단 중앙에 있는 눈에 띄는 문자 "A" 별자리의 막대의 오른쪽 끝을 형성합니다.이 성단은 더 큰 센타우루스 OB1 성협에 속하며 약 8,500광년 떨어져 있다.
성단과 크루시스자리 BU는 유명한 남십자성의 왼손잡이 별인 β Cruis의 남동쪽에 있습니다.
특성.
BU Cruis는 B2의 밝은 초거성(광도 등급 Ia)입니다.이것은 태양의 275,000배 밝기인데, 일부는 20,000K 이상의 높은 온도 때문이고, 일부는 태양보다 40배 크기 때문이다.① 크루시스 성단의 나이는 1120만 년이며, BU 크루시스 자체는 약 500만 [3]년이다.
