AASD로도 알려진 애플턴 지역 학군은 위스콘신 주 애플턴과 그랜드 처트를 서비스하는 학군이다. 위스콘신 주 북동부의 폭스 리버 밸리의 중심부에 위치한 AASD는 애플턴시와 약 7만5천명의 주민들을 위해 봉사하고 있다. 학교교육감은 주디루수[3], 현 이사장은 케이 에거트다.[4]

애플턴 지역 학군은 15개 초등학교, 3개 중학교, 3개 고등학교, 14개 공인 차터 스쿨에 1만6,281명의[5] 학생이 근무하고 있다. 구는 학생[citation needed] 한 명당 9403달러를 지출하고 있으며, 전임 교사 한 명당 16명의 학생을 두고 있다. 2016년 기준 9~12등급 중퇴율이 2.1%에 이른다.[6]

    • 링컨 스쿨(225 N. Oneida St. 1897[10]–ca. 1938[8])은 때때로 "제2병동 – 링컨 스쿨"이라고 불린다. 1938년 애플턴 시청으로 용도 변경. 애플턴 공립 도서관은 이제 이 학교가 했던 곳에 서 있다.

  • 리치먼드 스쿨 (1441 E John St, 1886–1952)은 당시 애플턴의 시장인 G. N. 리치먼드의 이름을 따서 명명되었다. 같은 장소에서 현재의 리치몬드 초등학교로 대체되어 1953년 개교하였다.
  • 제5관학교(서측 메뚜기 벳w 로레인·엘시,[20] 1876–1895)는 1895년 10월에 불탔다.[21] 같은 장소에서 Fifth Wards School로 대체되었다.
    • 제5관학교 (819 W. Elsie St, 1895[10]–1967, 1969–1976), 1925년에 워싱턴 스쿨로 개칭했다. 여전히 워싱턴 플라자 아파트로 서 있다.
  • 식스 워드
    • Amicus School (애플턴의 동쪽, Winnebago and Commercial, ?-[9]ca.1894 ) Columbian School로 대체. 1894년 1월 헌정.[22] 어느 틈에 학교의 이름이 콜럼버스 초등학교로[23] 바뀌었다.

  • 프랭클린 스쿨(Franklin School, 1906[10]–1952, 1953[25]–1972) 1954년에[25] 잭슨 스쿨로 개칭하여 과밀에 의해 다시 개교될 수 밖에 없었다(그리고 프랭클린 초등학교가 1952년에 완공된 지 얼마 되지 않았기 때문에). 1977년 9월 최종 폐쇄 후 철거됨.

1961-1962년 애플턴 학군 합병

1959년 위스콘신 주법은 모든 학군에는 부속 고등학교가 있어야 한다고 규정했다. 실제로 이것은 고등학교가 없는 학군들이 1962년 7월까지 그들만의 학교를 설립하거나 합병해야 한다는 것을 의미했다. Appleton School District는 이 명령을 준수하기 위해 여러 학교 및/또는 학군을 흡수했다.[26]

1961년 레드스타 스쿨지구는 1959년 첨부 투표가 실패한 후 애플턴 스쿨지구에 부속되었다.[26] 당시 학군에 의해 새로운 더 큰 학교가 제안되었지만, 이것을 건설하는 것은 결코 결실을 맺지 못했고, 1961년 부설 투표는 성공적이었다.
