2015년 11월 12일에서 15일 사이에 북아일랜드의 사회민주당과 노동당을 위한 지도자 선거가 열렸다. 결과는 Column Eastwood의 승리였다.

배경

맥도넬은 2014년 지방선거, 2014년 유럽의회 선거, 2015년 웨스트민스터 선거 등에서 부진한 선거 결과에 이어 사퇴 요구에 반발했다.[1] 처음에는 도전자가 나오지 않았지만 6월 초에는 도전자 컬럼 이스트우드가 설 것이라는 소문이 돌았다.[2] 이스트우드는 9월 말에야 맥도넬에 대항할 것임을 확인했다.[3]
