Y 게어(영어:포트리스)는 웨일스 주 포위스 주 브레콘의 글래모건 거리에 있는 시립 건축물이다.박물관과 미술관, 도서관이 있고 한때 브레크녹셔의 샤이어 홀이었던 구조를 통합한 이 단지는 2급 상장 건물이다.[1]

역사

원래 샤이어 홀 건물은 재판관이 쿼터 세션과 정기적인 준비를 위한 숙소로 의뢰했다.[2][3]토머스 헨리 와이어트와 데이비드 브랜든이 신고전주의 스타일로 설계한 것으로, 아슐라 돌로 제작되어 1843년에 완공되었다.[1]The design involved a symmetrical main frontage with five bays facing the corner of Bulwark and Danygaer Road; the central section of three bays featured a full height tetrastyle portico with Doric order columns supporting an entablature inscribed with the words "Victoria Regina MDCCCXLII", as well as a frieze with triglyphs and a modillioned pedi멘트.[1] 외부 베이에는 3개의 밝은 창문이 있는 1층짜리 블록이 들어 있었다.[1]내부적으로는 원룸이 법정이었다.[1]

모든 군(郡)에 군의회를 설치한 1888년 지방정부법 시행에 따라 새롭게 구성된 브레크녹셔 카운티 의회의 회의장소 설치가 필요하게 되었고, 이를 위해 시어홀의 시설이 파악되었다.[4]시어홀은 1971년까지[3] 법원 청문회를 계속 개최하고 1974년 폐지될 때까지 군의회 회의를 개최하였다.[5]

1928년 글래모건 거리를 따라 서쪽으로 더 멀리 떨어진 옛 예배당에 세워졌던 브렉노크 박물관은 1974년 텅 빈 샤이어 홀에 입주했다.[6][7][8]이 수집품의 하이라이트는 지역 로마 요새인 Y 가에르에서 발견된 칸디다스라는 젊은 기병의 묘비였다.[9]

헤리티지 복권 기금으로부터 자금이 확보된 후, 2016년 8월에 이 지역의 새로운 문화 중심지를 만들기 위한 주요 작업 프로그램이 시작되었다.키어그룹이 1400만 파운드를 들여 진행한 작품으로는 [10][11][12]쉬어홀 정비, 미술관 신축, 씨프스트리트에서 이전한 브레콘 도서관 신축 등이 포함됐다.이 단지는 현지 로마 요새의 이름을 떠올리기 위해 Y게어라고 명명되었다.[13]이 작품들은 2019년 12월에 완성되었다.[14]
